FEES & INSURANCE

Insurance

Our clinicians accept the following insurances:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Tufts (Commercial Only)

  • Cigna

  • Optum (United Behavioral Health, Health Plans Inc, Mass General Brigham Health Plan, and UMR)

  • Harvard Pilgrim

  • Aetna (Out of Network Only)

  • Unicare (Out of Network Only)

Please bring your insurance card to your first appointment so we can make a copy of it. If we do not have an agreement with your insurer, you must pay at the time of your visit and seek reimbursement from your insurer. We will help you to keep track of how many sessions you have used. In all cases, you are ultimately responsible for knowing this information and paying for services.

Fees

It is your responsibility, and not the responsibility of River & Stone, to fully understand the limitations of your insurance policy and what services and fees are covered.

​

Sessions are scheduled for 45-60 minutes. If you are unable to arrive on time, we will still end at the scheduled end time.

If River & Stone has an agreement with your insurance carrier, we will bill them for the session and once collected, we will charge your credit card on file for any co-pays and/or deductibles owed.

Please note that letter writing and consultation phone calls outside of regularly scheduled therapy sessions are not billable to the insurance carrier, and River & Stone will bill you directly for that time. If River & Stone does not have an agreement with your insurance carrier, the fees are as follows:

  • Initial Evaluation: $150 per intake

  • Individual & Family Therapy: $150 per session

  • Documentation Fees (letters, reports and phone calls): Anything lasting longer than 5 minutes, $20 per 15 minutes 

  • Cancellation Policy: 24-hour notice of cancellation is expected to avoid a charge of $100 for your scheduled session. Insurance carriers cannot be billed for cancellations.
